Taha’a and her sister island Raiatea are surrounded by a single continuous coral reef, and share the same sparkling lagoon. Accessible only by boat, sea plane or helicopter, following a 45 minute flight from Tahiti to Raiatea, a representative of your resort (there are only two to be found here!) will meet you at the airport & direct you to your awaiting transportation.
Taha’a grows nearly 80% of all vanilla produced in French Polynesia, earning her the nickname “The Vanilla Island.” Shaped like a flower, the island’s hillsides are also home to banana, watermelon & coconut groves, although the scent of vanilla is what is carried by the island breezes.
